Yana Marinova, a name that has taken the Bulgarian acting to a new high. Born on 17th August 1978, she began her career in acting with a Bulgarian TV Series ‘Hotel Bulgaria wherein she had played a character named Kalina, second to the lead role. The series was aired across the nation on Nova TV. She was also nominated for the Best Actress for her lead role in the Bulgarian movie 11th Grade by the Bulgarian National Theatre and Film Academy. Her next stint in acting was in the Lake Placed 2, where she had played the character named Sharon.
Not stopping at that she is also the Brand Ambassador for L’Oreal in Bulgaria and Macedonia for all kinds of commercials and social media. She has also featured in commercials for some of the most iconic brands of the world like Nestle, the Canadian Beer Company, Astera, etc.
Yana has given acting a new definition by her phenomenal performances in some of the well-known Bulgarian TV shows like Glass Home, The Family, Liaisons, etc. Her acting journey has been very enriching and she has also acted in some iconic feature films like Labyrinths of Love (Russia), Living Legends (Bulgaria), and a dozen others in America like Sniper 5: Legacy, Security, Supercollider, Bloodthirsty, etc. among others. Her versatility as an actor came to fore when she showed her skills as a stunt double of Saoirse Ronan in The Way Back and also in 300: The Rise of an Empire. Her charismatic role in the ‘Pelican’s Blood’, and ‘Lasko-The Fist of God’, will long be remembered in the German Cinema.
Marinova took to production and her co-production “Attraction” and “Wildings” rocked the Box Office in Bulgaria and widely acclaimed in the US. Wildings is all set to be released in Balkans-Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, etc.
She has completed her studies in Acting, Script Development, and Production from Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute Los Angeles, USA. She also has obtained her MA in Theatre from the New Bulgarian University.
