Seeking banquet waiter for a professional hockey team. Company states: "We have a very exciting long-term, potential full-time opportunity working with an NHL hockey team as they preview their new stadium. We are looking for high-end waiters. The applicant for this position must have experience working high-end events, present well, and be great with guests while working in a team environment. This job will take place in Manhattan and will require at least two years of past experience for the position." Additional Materials Duties Main Duties: Responsible for maintaining a comfortable atmosphere, high level of service, and assisting with all aspects of service during the shift and in preparation of it, to ensure the highest standards of quality in food and drink are served. Supporting the management team as needed. * Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness. * Seat guests by escorting them to assigned table, pulling out chairs and handing guests the menus. * Guests are never to be seated at a table that is not fully set and ready for service. * Serve alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with company standards and state and federal regulations. * Answer guest questions about food, beverages, and our facilities accurately and in a friendly manner. * Side work during non-busy hours. * Speak to guests with enthusiasm at all times. * Attend to members and guests during their entire experience. * Provide the highest level of service in accordance with our standards. * Identify food/drink orders when ready and delivers items to tables in a timely manner. * Maintain a professional appearance at all times. * Communicate with staff to ensure guest satisfaction. * Report to work as scheduled, in uniform, well groomed, and ready to be in position. * Maintain professional relationships with all coworkers. * Follow checklists and standard operating procedures. * Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area. * Provide table maintenance and bussing. * Maintain full knowledge of menus, drinks, recipes, and other pertinent information. * Constantly increase knowledge of food, beverages, and other products and services. * Ensure that guests have a positive and memorable experience at Preview Club. * Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling. * Prepare work area for opening, mid-shift, or closing in accordance with club standards. * Arrive for work in full uniform, ready to work, and no earlier than 5 (five) minutes prior to shift. * Complete all check out reports at the end of each shift and have it double checked and signed by management. * Perform other duties as assigned. Secondary Duties: * Reset tables according to specifications of lounge area, meeting rooms, bar or roof. * Set up and break down lounge room, bar area, meeting rooms and/or roof for each shift. * Bus tables after service as needed. * Restock and polish silverware, plates and/or glassware as needed. * Run food as needed. Required Skills/Qualifications * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as required. * Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined. * Must be hospitable, respectful towards colleagues and guests. * Excellent people skills and outgoing personality. * Professional communications skills are required. * Ability to take direction. * Ability to work in a team environment and must be a team player. * Ability to work calmly, quickly and effectively under pressure. * This position works nights, weekends and holidays. * This position is one of very high guest contact and position profile, as such, all established standards of excellence must be maintained at all times and every effort must be made to meet and/or exceed all guest expectations or requests. Physical Requirements * Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands. * Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 pounds. * Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping. * Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
